Brush, Breath, and Being Retreat
Exploring Eastern Wisdom (Confucian Philosophy) through Arts and Reflection
with Amanda Wang↗, Dmitri Wong↗ , Ruth Round↗ , Alice Chu ↗ & Lisa Thrupp↗
Step into a tranquil space where ancient wisdom and soulful creativity meet.
“Brush, Breath, and Being” is a unique retreat that invites you to gently return to the quiet center of your being, guided by the timeless teachings of Confucius. These classical teachings are no longer distant words on a page, but living wisdom — to be felt, breathed, and embodied.
Through the scent of ink and the flow of music, you’ll listen deeply to your inner voice, express it through art, and rediscover a sense of harmony with yourself and the world. Together, we will explore the rhythm of the brush, the breath of presence, and the stillness of the heart — and in that sacred space, meet the most authentic version of you.
🌹 What to Expect in this retreat
🌿Chinese Calligraphy as a meditative practice: Learn to move with the brush and let each stroke reflect your inner state.
🌿Music and Art: Awaken and record your thoughts and emotions by drawing and painting through mindful listening to music — no art skills needed, just honesty and presence.
🌿Philosophical Reflection: Discover how the teachings of Confucius — especially on cultivating harmony in relationships — can serve as practical tools for self-discovery and deeper connection with others. This isn’t about abstract theory, but about bringing timeless wisdom into the way we live, feel, and relate.
This is for you if…
🎯You’re looking for greater emotional balance and a clearer understanding of yourself.
🎯You’re interested in Eastern philosophy as something practical and relevant to everyday life.
🎯You want to explore how art can support personal growth and emotional healing.
🎯You’re ready to slow down and reconnect — with yourself, with others, and with a more grounded pace of life.
No experience necessary — just bring your curiosity, openness, and breath.
Leave with renewed clarity, open hands, and a heart more deeply attuned to yourself and the world.
This is not just a retreat. It’s a return — to presence, to meaning, to the quiet wisdom that’s been within you all along.
